VISION

The vision of the CHPPH is a population in Central and Eastern Europe whose public health is maintained by the adequate response of public health systems to community needs.

MISSION

The mission of the CHPPH is to develop and support interdisciplinary collaboration for needs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of health-related programmes that respond to the complex needs of communities and individuals.

GOAL

The goal of CHPPH is to become a premier academic resource in public health for Central-Eastern Europe.

CORE VALUES

The core values of the Center are:

1. Its interdisciplinary paradigm
The CHPPH encourages collaboration among professionals and organizations actively involved in valuable initiatives in public health or health-related fields. Members of the CHPPH value the involvement of all relevant stakeholders in agenda setting, planning, implementation and evaluation of public health programmes. The research field in Romania (and elsewhere) is characterized by the fragmentation of knowledge. Specialization is needed to help accelerate the acquisition of knowledge, but at the same time, it diminishes meaning. It leads to a discouraging vision of a world pervaded by daunting complexity and creates a breach between the deliberative and decision-making functions of society. On the other hand, a multidisciplinary paradigm is a natural approach to research, and scientific and cultural activities pursued with this perspective construct a coherent picture of the world.

2. Sensitivity to community issues.
We value and respect the community, giving its priorities a central role/position in our policies and practices.

3. Transparency / Openness.
We keep public all actions that we take to pursue our goals, welcoming constructive feed-back from all involved in the field of public health.

4. Honesty / Integrity.
Activities initiated by the members of the CPHHP are governed by the principles of honesty, objectivity and fairness.

5. Rigor
All efforts undertaken within the CPHHP will be guided by the values stated above, thus keeping true to our commitments and promises.
