IDB - European Injury Data Base top
Period: 2008-2009
Funding Institution: 50 000 euro
Partners : Emergency Department, Children’s
Hospital, coordinatordr. Daniel Nour, Mobile Emergency Service for
Resuscitation and Extrication, coordinator dr. Cristian Boeriu.
Objectives:
The aim of the project is to create at European level a database with reference to causes of all types of accidents leading to injuries. Thus, the circumstances of accidents as well as the prevention methods will be identified.
In order to achieve the aim, a data collection instrument was created and a coding system for the introduction of data in an electronic database. Through this pilot project we are seeking the calibration of collection instruments and data storage at European level.
Other objectives of the project are:
· To collect the information about external causes of morbidity and mortality (accidents, poisonings etc)
· To analyse the pattern of accidents and risk groups:
o Identify the products and objects associated to accidents
o Monitor the accidents
· To offer information for the identification of risk factors
· To facilitate the elaboration of regional programs of intervention and accident prevention
Number of collected cases: 3000 cases
